Richard C. StevensAttorney at law

Richard C. Stevens is an attorney and partner at Martin, Pringle, Oliver, Wallace, and Bauer, LLP. His practice emphasizes business and transactional law for a variety of industries, including computer software and hardware, small business, and commercial real estate. Richard attended Wichita State University, graduating in 2000 with a major in management information systems and a minor in accounting. For more than five years, he worked in the information technology field.

While in law school, Richard earned a Certificate in Business and Transactional Law, which focused on linking a client’s financial and business needs to effective legal planning. Richard’s education and experience in business and technology provide him with a distinctly valuable perspective on advising business people. Understanding and speaking the language of technology also helps Richard clarify complex transactions for his clients.

  1. Do you think the tax portion of this workshop will be helpful for Canadian teacher’s as well?

  2. Hi Nicole,

    Great question. I asked the attorney and he said that some of the principles might apply, but the structures are pretty specific to U.S. tax issues and business entities. The marketing portion of that particular session will be relevant and it will represent about 1/2 of the time if that is worth it to you.

    The “Stress-free Business Practices” is definitely relevant to teachers in Canada.

  3. I’m a college student and am planning on starting up a private piano studio once I graduate. So I’m trying to learn about the financial side of running a studio. Would these workshops be helpful to someone who has practically no knowledge of business taxes and finances?
