INTERVALS BY EAR

Go to Teoria Interval Ear Trainer.
Under Intervals, make sure these intervals are checkmarked: Major 2, 3, 6, 7;  Perfect 4, 5, 8
Type: Both
Direction: Ascending
Answer using; Interval name
If my answer is wrong, I want to: retry
Stop exercise after 5 minutes.  (Make sure you check this box)
Maximum time to answer: (Do not check this box)
Clef: Bass
OK
Play this for 5 minutes. You may repeat each interval 3 times (please do this to get the best score possible).
Record your score.

OR

Go to Big Ears.
Make sure only the following intervals are checked:
M2, M3, P4, P5, M6, M7, P8.
Do this activity for 5 minutes.  (Don’t forget, it is wise to listen to the interval 3 times, like MP does before you answer.)  As you play, write down what intervals you miss.  If you do not do well, go back and drill just the ones with which you had trouble.

INTERVAL IDENTIFICATION

Go to EMusic Theory.
Wait for the applet to load.
Click Settings (upper left hand corner)  Choose these settings:
Drill Type: Identify intervals on staff
Starting Note: No accidentals on starting note
Interval Types: Major and Perfect
Interval Direction: Ascending only
Intervals: Select all except for unisons
Play Sounds: Yes
Click Ok, then click Start Drill
Do this for 5 minutes and record your score (percentage) on your Web Rewards page.  If you do not score more than 90%, plan on doing this again.

OR

Go to Teoria Interval Identification
Checkmark Major 2, Major 3, Perfect 4, Perfect 5, Major 6, Major 7, and Perfect 8.
Checkmark “No Accidentals.”
Click OK.  Play this for 3 minutes and record your score (percentage) on your Web Rewards page.

MAJOR KEY SIGNATURES

Go to Major Key Signatures.
Make sure “Major” is checked, and “Both” is checked.  If this is your first time to do this activity, then check the “limit to 4 accidentals” box.  If it is not the 1st time, then do not check that box.  You may also limit it to drilling just sharps or flats. 
Remember:
To identify a Sharp key, take the last sharp and go up 1/2 step.
To identify a Flat key, take the 2nd to the last flat and name it.
Do this activity for 5 minutes, then record your score (percentage) on the Web Rewards page.

OR

Play Key Trainer for 5 minutes. 
Remember:
To identify a Sharp key, take the last sharp and go up 1/2 step.
To identify a Flat key, take the 2nd to the last flat and name it.
Record your score on Web Rewards page.  If you did not score 90% or above (or you wish to have more practice), play this again, or proceed to the other exercises.

ORDER OF SHARPS and FLATS

On a piece of paper, write:
1.  The order of Sharps.  If you don’t know, visit this link.  Remember Fat Cats Go Down Alleys Eating Bread.  Be ready to say this at your lesson!
2.  The order of Flats. If you don’t know, visit this link.  Remember its the order of sharps backward!

Listen to each of this musical examples.  Circle the correct melody on your worksheet.

In the left corner of the box, click settings.  Change settings to “Hard” and “Play Sounds: Yes”, then OK
Click Start Drill and then Play Rhythm.
Listen to the preparatory beats, then listen to the instrument play the sounds. 
Choose the correct note values to put in the measures. 
Play this for 5 minutes, then record your score.

OPTIONAL: 

Visit Teoria Rhythm Dictation (This one is optional.  Do the worksheets above first)
Click OK.  (only the first rhythms should be checkmarked)
Play this for 5 minutes and record your score on the Web Rewards page.
Please note: this is not the best exercise for this because it will not allow you to change your answer.  So, PLEASE listen at least 2 times before you start to answer.  There is no preparatory beat.
