Students can fish for these flashcards with a pole, string and magnet in the form of a fishing pole. Students must correctly identify the cards that are caught. Students can earn points for their team by correctly identifying the flashcards. Young students love this great carnival game!
Materials Needed:
These flashcards come on 17 pages (8 1/2 x 11) with 4 fish per page. The pages are reproducible and you are encouraged to copy them on colorful card stock paper, laminate the paper, and cut them out. You can purchase a magnet and pole at your local hardware store.

Affirm-a-Term PDF

Object: Be able to correctly describe the word to your team so that they will guess the word on your card.
Format: Divide players into 2 teams and sit in a large circle alternating team members. The first player is given a stack of cards and has 1 minute to get through as many cards as possible. The player to the right of the student (on the opposite team) should watch to make sure the student does not use any form of the word in their descriptions. After 1 minute, points are calculated and the next student in the circle (on the opposite team) gets a turn. The game is over when a given time period has elapsed or everyone has had a turn to “Affirm-a-term”
Scoring: 1 point is awarded for correctly guessed terms. 1 point is subtracted for each “passed” card.
